Curso en Blended Intensive Program in Internet of Things

Presentación

Presentación

The rapid growth of communications networks, and in particular the internet, has created a global shortage of people skilled in configuring, programming and connecting Internet of Things (IoT) devices, especially in places where they are being deployed to foster economic development. Recent studies show that the gap between the supply and demand of skilled information and communications technology (ICT) professionals will continue to be a challenge for countries' economic development in the years to come. The widespread use of these advances requires an update in the revision of the knowledge offered to students and professionals in the sector.

Currently, the Internet of Things is a paradigm that considers the presence in the real environment of objects that, through wireless or wired connections, can interact with each other and cooperate with other objects to create new ICT applications and services. IoT applications are very numerous and diverse: real-time monitoring of environmental parameters, logistics, smart building monitoring, meteorological applications, disaster detection, measurement of acoustic conditions, etc.

This activity is framed as a Blended Intensive Program (BIP) for undergraduate and postgraduate students who wish to be introduced to the basic aspects of IoT, and which will allow them to acquire, from a theoretical and practical point of view, knowledge to configure, program and connect different devices of the Internet of Things. The activity will be carried out in coordination with the partners in Germany, Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen University Applied Sciences (THM) and in Portugal, Polytechnic Institute of Braganza (PIB).

Between 5-10 students from each participant university, PIB and THM, and a number of students from the hosting University (UJAEN) yet to decide (minimum of 1 and a maximum of 5). Moreover, students from higher education institutions holding an ECHE - 2021-2027 could participate as well.

Students participating in the Blended Intensive Program are expected of a minimum of 15 and a maximum of 20.

Between 5-10 students from each participant university, PIB and THM, and a number of students from the hosting University (UJAEN) yet to decide (minimum of 1 and a maximum of 5). Moreover, students from higher education institutions holding an ECHE - 2021-2027 could participate if the sum of students coming from THM and PIB does not reach the number of 15. It allows for a conformation of multicultural small groups involving 1-3 students from each university.

Selection process: Students will be selected by the instruction team among the ones that show a better CV in relation to the requirements of programming skills, knowledge in networking, IoT and English.
